Birdbaths
The birdbaths shown here were all made using the same basic technique:
each bowl was made by casting concrete directly against a form fashioned from
wet sand, while the pedestals were constructed using fabric forms.
Two baths were colored using yellow and red iron oxides (i.e. integral pigmentation), while the other uses white cement for the bowl and is paired with an acid-stained pedestal (using gray cement).
The birdbaths to the right are some pieces cast a few years after the others shown on this page. They
were made using the same basic technique, have no integral pigment and are stained using
iron and copper-based acid stains.
